A Newsweek investigation turned up dozens of letters from politicians with an insatiable taste for pork. These are their scraps.
Rep John “Jimmy” Duncan, Jr., R-Tenn.: Rep. Duncan shows his support a TIGER Discretionary Grant application from Loudon County, TN to replace a bridge. On the second page of the letter he cites a 71% increase in unemployment in the last 12 months in the county, which, he claims, the construction of the bridge will ease.
